The Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final drew a 4.23 overnight household rating on NBC. That’s the 2nd-best rating for a game 1 trailing the Blakhawks-Bruins triple overtime thriller in 2013 which garnered a 4.8 overnight rating.
In the teams’ local markets: the game drew a 28.0 overnight in Chicago and a 17.9 in Tampa Bay. That was the best ever for a Lightning game on NBC’s networks and up 50% from Friday’s game 7 with the New York Rangers that scored an 11.9 in Tampa Bay.
