Cubs-Indians Game 6 overnight draws 23.4 million on Fox, most-watched Game 6 since 1997

Update: the game drew 23.396 million viewers on Fox, the most of any game 6 since 1997 (Marlins-Indians, 23.7 million). If you add-in the 425K from Fox Deportes it’s the most-watched game 6 since 1996 (Yankees-Braves, 30.4 million).

The Chicago Cubs win over the Cleveland Indians in game 6 to force a game 7 drew a 14.8 0vernight rating (on average 14.8 percent of homes in the biggest 56 TV markets were tuned-in to the game) with Sports Business Journal’s Austin Karp confirming Mike Greenberg’s report on Mike & Mike.

That’s lower than the 15.3 for game 5 on Sunday night but given the Cubs’ early and then big leads, that’s not too surprising.  Per Karp it’s the best game 6 overnight rating since 2009’s 15.5 for the Yankees clincher over the Phillies.

In Cleveland the game drew a 40.5/59 rating/share and in Chicago a 40.2/59.
