Cubs-Indians World Series Game 4 averages 16.7 million viewers (Updated)

Update: the game averaged 16.7 million viewers on TV (17 million if you add in Fox Deportes and Fox Sports Go streaming), up 23% versus last year’s game 4 which drew 13.6 million. It was the most-watched Saturday World Series Game since 2004’s Cardinals-Red Sox averaged 23.2 million and the most-watched game 4 since 2009’s Yankees-Phillies which aired on a Sunday and averaged 22.8 million.

The Cleveland Indians 7-2 win over the Chicago Cubs in game 4 of the 2016 World Series to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series  drew a 10.5 overnight rating (on average 10.5 percent of the TVs in the largest 56 markets were tuned-in) per Fox Sports.

The 10.5 was down 15% from the 12.4 overnight for Friday’s game 3. More college football competition and Halloween festivities? Frustrated Cubs fans?

Still, that’s the best World Series overnight rating for Saturday game since 2009  (a 10.8 overnight for game 3 of Yankees-Phillies.)

In the Cleveland market the game drew a 39.8/62 rating/share and in Chicago a 30.1/52.
