Per Fox Sports EVP of research Michael Mulvihill, the Chicago Cubs win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 6 of the NLCS to earn their first trip to the World Series since 1945 earned a 6.3 overnight rating on FS1 (on average 6.3 percent of the households in the largest 56 markets were tuned-in.)
That easily eclipses the previous record of a 5.3 overnight rating set for game 5. The game peaked with a 7.6/14 rating/share at 10:30 P.M. The game averaged a 25.8 rating in Chicago peaking with a 31.2/53 rating/share from 10:30-11 P.M. (of households watching TV at the time more than 50% were watching the Cubs.)
FS1 can lament not getting a game 7 but at least the Fox mothership gets the Cubs in the World Series.
Penn State’s upset of Ohio State on ABC held up well considering the historic competition earning a 4.2 overnight rating peaking from 11:30-11:45 P.M. ET with a 5.8 rating.
Really good, interesting info regarding my favorite topic. Thx!
