ESPN College hoops viewership down from last year, but still second most-watched ever

 

ESPN says its 36th consecutive year of men’s regular-season college basketball averaged 1,376,000 viewers which trailed only last year’s results (by 78,000 viewers).

Both Duke vs. North Carolina contests were the two most-watched college games of the season with the March 7 game averaging 4,241,000 viewers and the February 18 telecast averaging 4,136,000 viewers.

Across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN News 669 games were televised that averaged 448,000 viewers each.

Louisville was the top local market for the 13th straight year averaging a 5.9 household rating.
