Game 4 of Cavs-Warriors NBA Finals averaged 16.4 million viewers, down 17% from 2015

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers  in game 4 of the NBA finals to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. The game averaged 16.4 million viewers on ABC, down 17% from the 19.8 game four drew in 2015 (when the game was on a Thursday night rather than a Friday night).

Other than the fact that the series could be a short one that wraps up in 5 games, things aren’t so bad for team-Disney. It’s still the second most-watched NBA Finals ever on ABC through 4 games and as streaming numbers go, they’re pretty impressive.

Here’s hoping ESPN will order expedited out of home viewing reporting since there were probably lots of people watching in bars. Check this out for a primer on out of home viewing and this for some numbers about the out of home viewing for last Friday’s Copa America USA-Colombia match on FS1.
