NFL Conference Championships Overnight TV Ratings 2006-2016

Update 1: Per Fox Sports the Atlanta Falcons win over the Green Bay Packers drew a 27.4 overnight rating. While higher than last year’s NFC  Championship (Panthers blowout of the Cardinals in the late game) it was lower than the 31.8 for last year’s early game (Pats-Broncos).

Update 2: Per Nielsen, the New England Patriots win over the Pittsburgh Steelers averaged a 27.6 overnight rating from 6:45-9:45P ET.

Overnight ratings for the 2017 Conference Championships will be added to the table below as soon as available.

The overnight ratings measure the percentage of households tuned-in in the largest 56 Nielsen markets out of 210 total markets. The biggest 56 markets represent about 70% of the U.S. population. For a list of all 210 markets ranked by number of TV households for the current TV season, click here.

The overnight ratings will be the first numbers available Monday morning and are a good  indication of how the games performed versus previous years. Final viewership numbers for Sunday games will be out either later today or early Tuesday. I’ll add a link to those numbers here once available.
