Milwaukee again ranked #1 among local market ratings for the week ending November 16, 2014 for the Eagles vs. Packers game. Just because Milwaukee is #1 in the list below and New York is dead last, don’t take that to mean more people watched the Eagles/Packers game in Milwaukee than watched the 49ers/Giants game in NY. That isn’t the case.
A higher percentage (ratings are just a percentage) of homes watched in Milwaukee, but because New York is a much, much bigger market more than 700,000 more homes were watching in New York.
Here’s the math:
The Milwaukee market has 893,210 homes according to Nielsen. 51.6% of that is 460,896 households watching Eagles/Packers that week.
The New York market on the other hand has 7,442,270 homes according to Nielsen. 15.7% of that comes out to 1,168,436 households.
