The World’s Fastest-Growing Sports Media Podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, TuneIn, Stitcher, RSS, and, of course, this website. Since services like Overcast (which I love) just pull via RSS, I think the podcast is everywhere but Spotify. I’m still waiting to hear from Spotify.
I’m not on SoundCloud either, but where I’ve received e-mails/tweets lobbying for TuneIn, Stitcher and Spotify I haven’t received any for SoundCloud. I’m easy to manage though: just complain if you’re bothered by the lack of SoundCloud.
Apple recently started including some listening data for those listening via the iOS 11 podcast app or iTunes 12.7.
Surprise: people who start listening listen to most of the podcast most of the time.
What’s that mean? For the most recent podcast with Kevin Draper, those who started the podcast on average have listened to 93% of it.
I’d been bracing for it to go the other way (i.e. something more like 7% consumption) so the results were both surprising and gratifying. Though based on a variety of folks I’ve seen share some stats from Apple, my experience is not unusual. It seems to be pretty universal that most listen to most of an episode most of the time.
I also recently started a daily-ish e-mail newsletter via Mailchimp: subscribe or see the archives here.
