Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand has published the annual RSN (regional sports network) MLB ratings winners and losers charts. Despite missing the playoffs and dropping 10% vs 2015, the Kansas City Royals again led all of baseball with an 11.1 ratings on Fox Sports Kansas City and again edged out the Cardinals who were down 19% vs 2015 with an 8.15 rating on Fox Sports Midwest.
The Tigers, Orioles and Pirates rounded out the top 5 and although there was some flip-flopping in positioning it’s the same top 5 as in 2015.
Mr. Ourand’s report doesn’t include all teams, but the numbers are for all time periods. Forbes’ Maury Brown publishes numbers for all 29 U.S. markets, but the numbers are only for primetime. The top 5 teams are identical in both lists.
