Steelers-Broncos averages 43 million viewers; Seahawks-Panthers 36.7 million

Update: Per NFL’s Greg Aiello the Steelers-Broncos game on CBS averaged 43 million viewers and the Seahawks-Panthers game on Fox averaged 36.7 million viewers.

The Denver Broncos win over the Pittsburgh Steelers drew a 26.2/44 overnight household rating/share. That’s tied with 2011’s Jets-Patriots game as the highest in 21 years for a Sunday AFC divisional round game according to CBS and up 3% versus last year’s Colts-Broncos matchup.

The earlier Seattle Seahawks-Carolina Panthers game on Fox drew a 23.1 overnight rating, down 12% versus last year’s record-setting Cowboys-Packers game per Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand, but pretty good considering the 31-0 halftime score.
