Update: the game’s viewership averaged 45.7 million viewers. The Carolina Panthers blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Conference Championship drew a 26.8/40 overnight rating/share.  That’s down 8 % versus last year’s Seahawks-Packers game that aired in the early 3:00 P.M. Packers-Seahawks Averages 49.8 million viewers, Colts-Patriots 42.1 Million

Per the NFL and Nielsen, overall Conference Championship Sunday averaged 46.1 million viewers with the Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks NFC Championship Game on Fox averaging 49.8 million viewers and the Indianapolis Colts-New England Patriots AFC Championship Game on CBS averaged 42.1 million viewers. The Seahawks-Packers game peaked with an average of 60.5 million viewers as the game went into overtime.

Packers-Seahawks, Colts-Patriots Conference Championships down from last year

With the game a blowout in the second-half it’s not a huge surprise that the AFC Conference Championship between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots earned a 24.2 overnight metered market household rating, the lowest of any conference title game  in six years.
