Packers-Redskins averages 38.8 million viewers; Seahawks-Vikings 35.5 million

Per the NFL’s Brian McCarthy, Sunday’s late afternoon Green Bay Packers vs Washington Redskins game on Fox averaged 38.8 million viewers. The earlier Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings game on NBC averaged 35.5 million viewers. The Redskins game was down 8 percent from last year’s equivalent game (Lions-Cowboys) that averaged 42.3 million viewers, but great numbers for both as Wild Card games go.


Chiefs-Texans, Steelers-Bengals Wild Card Saturday ratings up versus last year

ESPN/ABC report that the early Kansas City Chiefs vs. Houston Texans  game drew a 16.2 overnight rating across ESPN and ABC, up 23% versus last year’s Cardinals-Panthers game (which aired on ESPN but was not simulcast nationally on ABC).  The game tied as the fourth highest-rated Saturday afternoon Wild Card game since 2007.
