The UFC Prelims on FS1 ahead of the Rousey/Correia pay per view card averaged 1.322 million viewers and a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating to top both viewership and adults 18-49 rating among the cable sports programming for the day. Third primetime PBC on NBC telecast averages 2.3 million, the primetime ratings trend is not PBC’s friend

Saturday’s primetime PBC Boxing telecast on NBC averaged 2.3 million viewers. While the overnight rating (which measures only the top 56 markets) was down just 4% from the second primetime PBC telecast on NBC on April 11, national viewership was down 21% versus the 2.9 million the April 11 telecast averaged. Worse still Saturday’s 2.3 million average was down 45% from the 4.2 million the premier telecast on March 7.

PBC Boxing in Primetime scored a 1.86 overnight rating.  That’s down 4% from the 1.94 overnight rating on April 11th in primetime and down 26% from PBC’s primetime premiere on March 7 that scored a 2.53 overnight rating. Update: while the overnight rating was only down 4% from April, nationwide viewership was down 21%. Consecutive Fridays with Bob Ryan subbing for Tony Kornheiser on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption and consecutive Fridays with PTI leading the cable sports networks on a slow Friday, this time with 738,000 viewers and 0.3 adults 18-49 rating. In FIFA Women’s World Cup action on Fox Sports 1, Australia-Nigeria averaged 631,000 viewers, Japan-Cameroon averaged 615,000 viewers and Switzerland-Ecuador averaged 587,000 viewers. Late Saturday afternoon PBC Boxing on NBC drew a 0.85 overnight rating. That’s on par with the 0.9 overnight rating PBC Boxing drew on CBS at 4pm on May 9 (which was down from a 1.1 on April 4).
