Thunder-Warriors Western Conference Finals start way up versus 2015 (Updated)

 

Update: the game averaged 8.7 million viewers, up 28% vs the 6.8 million viewers for last year’s Rockets-Warriors Game 1 on ESPN,

TNT scored a 6.7 overnight rating for game 1 of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Western Conference Finals. That’s up 24% versus last year’s game 1 between the Houston Rockets and the Warriors that aired on ESPN in 2015 and drew a 5.4 overnight and up 20% vs game 1 of 2015’s Eastern Conference Finals (Hawks-Cavs) that drew a 5.6 overnight last year on TNT.

Overnight household rating = the live+same day DVR overnight metered-market household rating from the top 56 Nielsen television markets. The 56 markets (out of 210 total) account for about 70% of the US TV-viewing population. The  overnight household rating is  the percentage of the households that were tuned-in in those markets.
